About Lida

I am a registered clinical counsellor, an approved clinical supervisor, and an educator with extensive experience. My broad range of professional qualifications has enabled me to work with a range of mental health concerns within the public and private sectors.
I am a published author, an experienced educator, and a versatile clinician specializing in working with children and youth, families, couples, and groups. The scope of my clinical work includes complex trauma, risk assessment and crisis management, and multicultural counseling. I also have extensive experience working with women in abusive relationships, children living in the midst of violence, and people with physical and psychological traumas.
My approach in counselling is relational, contemplative, spiritual, and encouraging. I view life as a process of overcoming perceived limitations, and growth toward peaceful relationships with ourselves, others, and difficulties. Fostering resilience, acceptance, optimism, wisdom and compassion as pillars of healthy living, I empower my clients to use life challenges toward personal and interpersonal awareness and growth. Engaging my clients on intellectual, emotional, and spiritual levels, I help them examine the profound consequences of their beliefs and expectations on their psychological wellbeing and on their relationships.
Using a variety of therapeutic models, I tailor treatment to the unique needs and personality styles of my clients. Clients experience me as compassionate, respectful, empowering, practical, and efficient. My sessions are engaging, thought provoking, inspiring, and fun. I work passionately and am dedicated to continuous personal and professional development.
I am fully committed to my clients and to the profession and have been recognized with a number of provincial awards for community service, and contribution to the field of counselling.
