Inactive Status – A class of registration for individuals not currently practicing clinical counselling. (Reasons may include health, maternity/paternity leave, travel etc.)

Active Status – A class of registration for individuals who are actively engaging in the clinical counselling scope of practice.

Consent Agreement Status – The individual is under a consent agreement to improve their practice as a result of a complaint and subsequent investigation outcome.

Suspended Status– This individual is suspended from practicing for a period of time and until further notice, either by consent in the face of a complaint investigation or pending a hearing, or through terms imposed by the Inquiry or Discipline Committee.

Terminated Status – Former BCACC members who failed to renew their membership with BCACC as per the BCACC Bylaws. Former members are prohibited from using the RCC designation or representing themselves as Registered Clinical Counsellors.

Cancelled Status – This individual’s registration has been cancelled due to disciplinary issues and the individual is no longer a member in good standing.

A BCACC member may be “not in good standing” for:

  • Non-payment of membership dues
  • Not complying with a regulatory process
  • Not carrying professional liability insurance
